Who Is This?

Who is this Babe –

That leaders of nations come to see,

To praise and honor on bended knee?

Tis He, the First Born, the Holy One,

The Lord of All, the Carpenter’s Son.

Who is this Boy –

That astounds the learned, confounds the wise,

Reveals new light, and opens closed eyes?

Tis He, the Chief Cornerstone, the Lord Almighty,

The Holy One, a Nazarene from Galilee.

Who is this Man –

That wind and mountain readily obey,

Who paid the infinite price without delay?

Tis He for whom a heavenly choir sings,

The Lord of Lords, the King of Kings.

Who is this Teacher –

That mends torn hearts and heals the lame,

Sustains the weary and takes our shame?

Tis He, the Shepherd, the Captain of Salvation,

Immanuel, Wonderful, the Mighty and Beloved One.

Who is this Rabbi –

That puts storms to rest and wipes our tears,

Fills all voids and calms our fears?

Tis He, the Master, the Great High Priest,

The Anointed One, the Prince of Peace.

Who is this Friend –

That bears our flaws and all our sin,

Covers our shortcomings, every one of them?

Tis He, our Savior, the Advocate and Mediator,

The Bread of Life, our God the Redeemer.

Who is this Jesus –

That comforts us when we’re alone,

And has prepared for us a heavenly home?

Yes, tis He, God’s Gift of Love, meek and mild,

Immanuel, Hope of Man, the Christ Child.
