The Test

in that place between there and here

between infinite yesterdays and infinite tomorrows

the space between what has been

and what is yet to be

is the middle time, the proving ground―

the testing time.

it’s where men are made and tried and challenged.

will they decide wisely? will they choose correctly?

will they pass through this time and be the better for it?

will they decipher those subtle nuances

that make notable differences – that make all the difference

in this testing place?

will they take the higher road?

and influence others for good along the way?

lifting them, blessing them, giving to and encouraging them?

will they take the test with honor

improving each day in little ways

to the end of the testing time?

and when we’re dead and gone to those infinite tomorrows

will those behind remember us with fondness?

will our friends reverence and praise us?

will their hearts warm as they solemnly reflect:

‘if compassion were currency, my friend was a billionaire!’

and if so, we passed the test!
