There is no prize,
Without toil or strife,
That is lauded,
Or applauded,
Or esteemed as valuable in life.
The china that’s fine,
Set for a noble event,
With shimmering silverware,
And crystal so rare,
Isn’t found in the bargain basement.
When your ship comes in,
The treasure unveiled,
Will you be pleased inside,
And full of pride?
Or left lacking, slighted, unfulfilled?
Hard work, perseverance are key,
And to the end staying true,
Conquering each test,
Achieving at the crest,
The prize waits for these, the few.
